What we do

Sessions in your language, on your terms

  • Individual therapy

One-on-one sessions to talk through work, school, relationships and the weight of what your family expects. Fifty minutes, at your pace.

    About individual therapy
  • Your family, your rules

How privacy works when your family is close: who knows you are here, how we reach you and whether anyone ever joins a session. You decide.

  • Spanish, English or both

Say it in whichever language it comes out in. Switching in the middle of a sentence is welcome, and so is the word that only exists in one of them.

Your clinician

Keila Alicea, licensed mental health counselor

Keila sees young adults who are building their own lives next to the people who raised them.

She speaks Spanish and English and is happy with both in one sentence. Sessions are talk therapy with practical skills, and she tells you what she is doing and why.

Your family, your rules

Close to your family, and still your own person

Many people who come to Rill live near, or with, the people they love most, and still want one hour that belongs only to them.

At Rill, you decide who knows you are in therapy, how we reach you and whether anyone ever joins a session.

  • Messages go where you say: text, call or email

  • No family member joins a session unless you ask

  • We explain the limits of confidentiality in writing

How fees work

The answers to what most people ask before a first session.

  • Insurance we work with

Rill is out of network with insurance plans, so you pay for each session yourself. We do not bill Medicare or Medicaid. If you would rather use a plan, we are glad to share the names of counselors who do.

    • Out of network with insurance plans

    • No Medicare or Medicaid

  • If you pay yourself

You pay at the end of each session by card, HSA and FSA cards included. Your fee is given to you in writing before you start. A limited number of reduced-fee spots are held back; ask how to request one. We ask for 24 hours' notice to change an appointment.

  • Receipts for reimbursement

Each month we give you an itemized receipt (a superbill) with the dates and the kind of session, to send to a plan that may reimburse part of out-of-network care. It carries a diagnosis code that your insurer can see. Your plan decides whether it reimburses anything, so ask it before you begin.

  • An estimate in advance

If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing, before care begins, of what it will cost. We give you one before your first session. If your final bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.

    Your rights, at cms.gov/nosurprises
  • Checking your benefits

We do not check benefits, because we do not bill your plan. To find out whether your plan reimburses, call it before your first session and ask about out-of-network mental health services.

Questions

What most people ask first

Do you take my insurance?

Rill is out of network with every plan and does not bill Medicare or Medicaid, so you pay for sessions yourself. On the fees page we explain the receipt you can send to a plan that may reimburse out-of-network care.

What is a superbill, and how can I use it?

A superbill is a monthly receipt that can go to your plan, which may reimburse part of the cost. It lists the dates and the kind of session and carries a diagnosis code your insurer can see. Your plan decides whether it pays anything.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

If you pay without insurance, you have the right to a written estimate of the cost before care begins. If your final bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. We give you the estimate before your first session.

How much does a session cost, and how do fees work?

Your fee is given to you in writing before you start, and you pay by card at the end of each session. The fees page walks through insurance, receipts, estimates and reduced-fee spots.

Can I use an HSA or FSA card?

Yes. HSA and FSA cards work like any other card at checkout. Ask your plan administrator what it accepts as an eligible expense.

What happens in the first session?

Fifty minutes, in person or by video. Keila explains privacy and fees, asks about what you want from therapy, and answers your questions. You decide whether to continue.
